Key Risk: The 6-Month Crossover

From around July 2026 onwards, the cancellation penalty exceeds or matches what you've actually paid in. From that point, there's effectively nothing coming back. The only realistic refund window (beyond cooling-off) is early in the 30% period, where you'd only recover instalment payments — not the deposit or the 30% penalty.

Get insurance on or before April 1, 2026 — the day you sign and pay the deposit. Cover should start from the moment you have money at risk. Policy must be purchased at least 30 days before the wedding (not an issue here).
